Foshag Fund Update

Our society received a generous donation to the Foshag Fund, the fund from which we make the annual research grant to a George Washington University (GWU) geology student. 

The donation is in memory of Frank Hissong.  Frank was a member of several local mineral clubs until he and his wife Sherrel moved to Harrisonburg.  Frank was known for his love of passing his knowledge on to youngsters and his ability to explain geology in ways that young people could understand. Thus, it seems especially appropriate for this donation to support GWU students.
