Patuxent Lapidary Guild Closing

The Patuxent Lapidary Guild has closed its shop in Annapolis and gone out of business. As part of closing the business, following their bylaws, they have given whatever funds they had left to various local like-minded organizations, including MSDC. They sent us a generous donation, one that will allow us to continue our Smithsonian donation and George Washington University geology student research grant for several years. 

Phooey! Receiving this donation means the Patuxent  Lapidary Guild has ceased operation.  It’s always sad when you hear of groups closing doors after many years of operation. We value our friends and neighbors who share our love of minerals, lapidary, and geology. Now we have one less. Unfortunately, it seems that our hobby is seeing a decline in interest. 

We do thank them for including us in their distribution of assets. We shall be good stewards of their money.
