Hello MSDC Members, welcome to November 2024!

As I write this message, we are still in October with Halloween coming next week. Heather and I are excited for trick or treating with our grandson Aiden who is dressing up as a baby shark from CoComelon. Below is a picture.

Aiden dressed up as a baby shark with our little dog Rocky.

I just returned from a fluorescent mineral show in Fairless Hills, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. It is one of my favorite mineral shows and I've attended many times. It is the only show I know of that turns the lights out so you can view the vendors’ fluorescent minerals. They turn the lights back on periodically so people can see the minerals in daylight and make purchases. It's a fantastic show and I highly recommend it if you like minerals that glow in the dark!

The girl with fluorescent make up is my good friend Lauren Anderson who went all out.

I want to remind everyone of the Northern Virginia Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show being held at George Mason University on November 23 and 24. Be sure to make it if you can because it's going to be a great show! See a more detailed announcement (and discount coupon) about the show further down in this scroll.

I look forward to seeing everyone for our zoom meeting on November 6. See you then.
